Evolution is Our Middle Name
VIPS was founded in 1987, a very different time in business communication
Back then, business correspondence meant typing a letter, making a phone call, sending a fax, or perish the thought, sending a telex.
It wasn’t quite two cans and a piece of string. But it was slow. And inefficient.
For example, if retail chain managers needed to share important information with stores, they would call each separately. One store at a time.
And that’s where we first made our mark – by creating a voice technology system that allowed retail managers to send a telephone message to all their stores at once. Job done in under a minute. (And that’s the story behind the name VIPS – or Voice Information Processing Service.)
Little did we know that the telephone would become ‘old-school’
As the years passed and new technologies emerged, VIPS began to solve more and more productivity problems with smart, automated solutions.
The most significant technological breakthrough since those early days was obviously the internet. It enabled us to create solutions for our clients (such as sending video and voice messages and collecting data via the PC) that no longer relied on the telephone.
Then in 2010, the iPad was released
The moment we heard about an amazing new gadget called the iPad, we knew it would be another game-changer for our business and for our clients’ businesses.
And we were right.
So we set about creating solutions that would leverage the power of smart devices. And as suspected, they’ve revolutionised the way mobile workforces operate today.
So what’s next on the technology journey?
Our finger is constantly on the technology pulse. And although we don’t know what’s around the corner (though we do have some ideas), you can be sure we’ll lead the way.
In the meantime, it’s full steam ahead as we actively find new ways to simplify your complex business processes with today’s technology.
Our existing suite of applications continue being indispensable to our clients. But every day we also create custom solutions to new or unique business problems.
