Heritage Brands

Background

Heritage Brands is an Australian-owned business operating nationally in the health, wellness and beauty markets. With a large brand portfolio including Australis Cosmetics, Innoxa, Mode and In Essence and Le Tan, the company also has the Australian licence and distribution rights for Revlon Eyelashes, Nailene, Fing’rs, Fuse Gelnamel and Sensationail.

In 2011, the business decided it was time to improve sales efficiency – particularly when it came to order processing. After a long day on the road, sales reps would go home each night and transpose all manual orders into the electronic system, encroaching on their productivity and personal time.

The situation

Heritage Brands first moved to handheld devices and order automation with some success. However, they came to realise that the technology they initially chose (five years earlier) was unnecessarily complex and cumbersome.

When Chief Operating Officer, Chris McGibbon, discovered VIPS, he instantly knew it was time for change. VIPS was clearly a major improvement on their current technology – and the potential to cut order processing time even further was obvious.

The outcome

Mr McGibbon wasted no time in transitioning his team to VIPS and integrating the new technology with their back-office IT systems.

And his sales team wasted no time in telling him how much easier life has become.

Our sales reps find VIPS a lot faster and simpler to use compared to our previous system. It has freed up a huge amount of their time enabling them to focus on what they should be focusing on; building client relationships and achieving sales objectives,’ said Mr McGibbon.

Complete with bar code scanning capability, all point of sale and merchandising orders are now submitted in real time – going directly to head office for processing and then to their warehouse for despatch.

Next steps

Following the successful implementation and uptake of the VIPS Order Application, Mr McGibbon is now exploring more opportunities to improve workforce productivity with VIPS.

First on his agenda is the VIPS Field Tracker Application – the perfect tool for monitoring field staff activity such as travel time and duration of appointments.

Our work with VIPS has only just begun. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the VIPS team as they help us further improve sales force productivity, accountability and performance,’ said Mr McGibbon.
